About Berkeley Bars
Berkeley Bars started with a dog named Berkeley – a sassy little rescue with a heart of gold. She went everywhere – hikes, weekend road trips, flights, baseball games, camping, and as a South Carolina dog born & rescued... one of her favorite places was the beach.
Feeding her well without impacting our busy, active routines was harder than it should have been – bags of kibble took up space, fresh food required refrigeration, and bowls were needed either way. Backpacks or purses loaded with containers of kibble were commonplace on our adventures. For a dog who lived like Berkeley, the existing options felt designed for a different kind of life. So we started building something better.
Unfortunately, Berkeley never got to try the finished product. Neither did Bane, her brother and our VP of Taste-Testing, who also crossed the rainbow bridge. But Berkeley Bars exists because of them – and for every dog like them. This one’s for them.

What's in a Berkeley Bar and why that matters?
Real chicken breast as the primary ingredient. Real bone broth for palatability and joint support. Wild Alaskan salmon oil for omega-3s. Pumpkin for digestive health. Blueberries for antioxidants. And more, bound together with flaxseed and heart-healthy grains veterinary cardiologists recommend.
Each Berkeley Bar is formulated to approximate a meal replacement for a 25 pound dog. Multi-packs will be available for larger dogs.
How do I store Berkeley Bars?
To maintain freshness, store Berkeley Bars in a cool, dry place. However, our bars are shelf-stable without refrigeration and are heat-tolerant under reasonable conditions. They can also be kept in the refrigerator for an extended shelf life. Just make sure to seal the packaging tightly after each use, and check packaging for an expiration date (where applicable).
Are Berkeley Bars available for purchase?
Not yet, but soon! We're finalizing the products based on initial prototypes and feedback. Also, we're working towards our AAFCO compliance and certification requirements and a Guaranteed Analysis Panel to make new, healthy, expert-approved products available for sale.

Are Berkeley Bars built for dogs with different needs and activity levels?
Yes! Berkeley Bars come in a variety of options, including for high-activity, sensitive stomachs / easy digestion, allergen sensitive, calming, as well as older dogs. A puppy formula is under development and will require additional compliance before making available for sale.
